The following are not good candidates:
• Pregnant or breast feeding
• Currently using Accutane or have used Accutane in the past years
• Are taking blood thinning medication or taking antibiotics
• Have rosacea
• Currently undergoing cancer treatments; must be free of radiation or chemo therapy for 6 months
• Freshly tanned/sunburnt face
Do not work out the day of your appointment; do not take medications that will thin your blood (i.e. aspirin/ibuprofen) for 72 hours prior to or immediately after your appointment; avoid alcohol within 24 hours; avoid caffeine for 12 hours (caffeine increase blood flow and will affect you healed results) No Botox, fillers, or chemical peels 2 weeks prior to or after your appointment. No use retine-a near the brow area for 2 weeks before or after the appointment.
• In the hours following your procedure your brows will appear much darker and bolder than it will heal due to oxidation in the surface layer of your skin. Your brows could also appear warmer in color. You may experience some redness or swelling around the treated area, this typically disappears within 48 hours.
• Around day 3 you may notice some flaking or light scabbing on the treated area, DO NOT PICK AT IT, doing so can result in loss of pigment in those areas. Brows may appear spotty or patchy until the entire brow has finished healing. You may notice that some areas may appear very light or even to have lost pigment entirely after they have peeled, the epidermis will be thicker causing muting, hiding or diffusing of pigment underneath.
• After 4-6 weeks softened pigment should appear more clearly on the surface of the skin and will have a natural appearance. Your brows will be fully healed. Whatever pigment that does return will be addressed at your touch up appointment or if you would prefer darker, bolder brows we can always add more color and dimension during that appointment.
